UX/UI Design roadmap

You talk to users, find what is hard for them, and design screens that fix it. You don’t need to code, but you do need to understand how people think.

A normal day

  • Interview an app’s users
  • Design a sign-up flow in Figma
  • Test a prototype with 5 people

You’ll like it if…

  • You are creative and observant
  • You like talking to people
  • You prefer designing over coding

How much does UX/UI Design pay?

Median monthly pay in Spanish-speaking Latin America, by experience. The bar runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile of reported pay.

There aren’t enough reported salaries from Latin America for this path yet (we require at least 30 per experience level; there are 1 in total today). We’ll publish it once the data is there.

Official data for Peru

Graphic and multimedia designers: median monthly pay S/ 1,260. Half earn between S/ 860 and S/ 1,930.

  • Up to age 29: S/ 970
  • Age 30 and over: S/ 1,500

National Household Survey (INEI) 2022–2024, 264 people surveyed, weighted to represent the country. It is a broad group: the survey does not separate UX/UI Design from other jobs in the group.

Young (18–29) institute graduates in Diseño: average S/ 1,611 a month, most between S/ 930 and S/ 2,600.

Payroll records 2020, graduates 2017-2019. It is old data: treat it as a reference floor. The “Diseño” family includes graphic design, not only UX.
